Saturday Kindergarten

Saturday Kindergarten was designed to create an opportunity for students attending Japanese kindergarten during the week to study in an English environment. Our Saturday Kindergarten curriculum is a condensed version of the curriculum taught in our weekday Kindergarten. Each class is a 5 hour long immersion in an English only surrounding where they can learn naturally through interaction and experience. They communicate with friends and a native English teacher during fun activities and games where they can learn to use natural English.

Designed for students who attend Japanese kindergarten during the week

Saturday 9:00 a.m. ~ 2:00 p.m.
3 years old ~ 7 years old

We create an opportunity for these children to practice daily conversation with peers. Classes are also designed for each student’s personal level. Students are not pushed or held back to accommodate for other students. The curriculum for this course includes phonics, vocabulary, spelling, writing, reading, and language arts. This is done through worksheets, crafts, active play, science, and more! This gives students a broad spectrum of English that they can use in a variety of real-life situations. As with our weekday Kindergarten, Saturday Kindergarten also includes the celebration of various events such as Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, and many more. Children can experience and learn American customs first hand!

Curriculum

At the same time, we offer a sustained learning level of an American Kindergarten, and follow-ups on everyday life English in a Japanese environment. Our curriculum focuses on as much interaction in English as possible; this, of course, includes normal, everyday conversations (including inside the house) and communication between teachers and their peers. We help raise kids like American children, teaching them: respect, sharing, responsibility, independence, and self-confidence. We specifically teach children to have self-confidence and a sense of responsibility from an early age. This helps them obtain the ability to clearly express themselves using their words.

Special Program

Throughout the year, we incorporate special parties and events such as Christmas and Halloween parties into our regular lessons. These are memorable events that all the children look forward to all year. These events let children experience each season through the eyes of an American and real-life situations. It’s also a great chance for them to apply the things they’ve learned in their everyday lessons to interact with one another!

Computer

We also offer computer lessons where they can implement their English abilities to use the computers. Children of ages 2 or 3 play educational games or interact with stories, learning colors and shapes, phonics and basic computer usage. From the age of 4, students start using the internet to look up information.
